CE CreditsOsteoarthritis, intervertebral disc disease, degenerative myelopathy, and geriatric onset laryngeal paralysis polyneuropathy can significantly impact a dog’s mobility, especially as they age. Osteoarthritis is the most common cause of long-term pain and mobility impairment in dogs. Currently there is no cure; therefore, patient care is focused on managing pain and improving mobility and quality of life.

This webinar takes a case-based approach to demonstrate how an individualized, multimodal plan that combines both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments can help aging patients through progressive mobility challenges. Join us to learn how you can better support your mobility-impaired patients and the families who care for them.

After watching the webinar, attendees will:

  • Understand the pharmacological approach to alleviating osteoarthritis with an emphasis on non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
  • Learn why adjunct drugs such as amantadine and gabapentinoids are incorporated into treatment plans.
  • Understand why weight management plays a key role in patients with osteoarthritis.
  • Learn which supplements are backed by scientific evidence.
  • Learn how to incorporate physical modalities such as exercise, acupuncture and laser therapy into a care plan.

Participants will earn 1 RACE-approved CE credit upon successful completion of the quiz after viewing the webinar.
